Changing the way we think about our mental health
Slimming World understands that looking after our mental health is essential for good overall health and wellbeing – which is why we continue to fully support Every Mind Matters, the government’s mental health campaign.
We know that being unhappy with our weight can lead to self-criticism, shame and low self-esteem, while things like stress, poor sleep and low mood can all affect our eating habits. Good mental health helps us to feel relaxed more often and cope better with day-to-day events and challenges – and can lead to us achieving more. Since its launch in 2018, Every Mind Matters has offered expert advice and practical tips to help you look after your mental health and wellbeing. There are special sections on the website for supporting others and dealing with life’s challenges, too. We love the health-boosting ideas, from eating well and being active to enjoying more me-time and building supportive relationships – all things that we support our members with every day. You can even get a free personalised ‘Mind Plan’: just answer five quick questions to get your plan with tips to help you deal with stress and anxiety, improve your sleep, boost your mood and feel more in control.
