Changing the way we think about our mental health

Slimming World understands that looking after our mental health is essential for good overall health and wellbeing – which is why we continue to fully support Every Mind Matters, Public Health England’s mental health campaign.

We know that being unhappy with our weight can lead to self-criticism, shame and low self-esteem, while things like stress, poor sleep and low moods can all affect our eating habits. Good mental health helps us relax more, achieve more and enjoy our lives more. Since it was launched in 2018, Every Mind Matters continues to be updated with expert advice and practical tips to help you look after your mental health and wellbeing. There is a special section for coping with staying at home and anxiety around Coronavirus, along with specialist advice for young people and parents. We love the health-boosting ideas - from eating well and being active to enjoying more me-time and building supportive relationships – all things that we support our members with every day. You can even get a free personalised ‘Mind Plan’, just answer 5 quick questions to get your plan with tips to help you deal with stress and anxiety, improve your sleep, boost your mood and feel more in control.
