I joined Slimming World as I was seriously concerned about my health - asthma, pre-diabetes, backache and mobility - and I feared having a stroke or another illness with catastrophic effects too young. I felt so ashamed about my size and hid that from most. The truth was I was horrified when I saw the number on the scales. I had such a long journey ahead but I was determined this time to make changes and still love food. I went on to lose 8 stone which I have maintained that for 7+ years with the support of group. In 2015 I became a Consultant, passionate to make difference to the mental and physical health of our community. My members love our groups - excellent weight-loss, motivation and care to inspire more positivity about wellbeing.
